Mary-Frances Fox founded WCCA in 2000 to fulfill the career needs of individuals who want to gain more satisfaction, income, and control over their work. WCCA is one of Canada 's only professional career management advisory firms to serve individuals rather than employers. Our shared goal is measurable improvement in client's Career Equity©.
Mary-Frances developed the Work Creatively Career Equity © model and processes based on continuous experience, research, and investment in the career management field since 1991. She is a well-known careers expert who regularly speaks to association groups and appears in Canadian media. She is an active member of the Association of Career Professionals International and today also coaches other career counsellors on private practice.
Mary-Fran's role is to develop new models of career management and lead the firm. She initially meets with each client to personally design their Career Move Action Plan / Self Employed Move-Ahead Plan, bringing her experience to their precise situation.
Her background includes a BA and post-university training in marketing management and psychotherapy. An entrepreneur since high school, she learned to run several businesses alongside her day jobs. She developed our Career Equity © model by managing her own career path from writer/editor to organizational communications manager to speechwriting consultant to therapist to senior outplacement consultant and manager (where she advised thousands of downsized employees and their employers) to Work Creatively's founder.
She is a graduate of Trent University and a member of Women Entrepreneurs of Canada and the Toronto Board of Trade.
Mary-Fran's own Key Success Factors are:
- Converting ideas, visions, and intuitions into viable, usable, saleable new products and services
- Seeking and distilling life experiences to make meaning and inspire others
- Knowing how to say things aloud or in writing to get a particular market's attention and communicate a point of view
- Introducing people to new ideas; explaining and role modeling professional concepts I believe are positive, in a way that inspires people to think bigger and change
- Offering deep support of individuals in their personal and career growth and transformation
- Managing consulting projects with warmth, innovation, and integrity
When not in the office, you'll find her writing, decorating, or being out in nature and on the water with her husband Patrick.
